Deputation to Lambeth Council – Change council policy on ‘intentionally homeless’

Clavia Chambers is leading a deputation to the Lambeth Council meeting on 18th October.
Clavia and her two children were evicted for rent arrears that stemmed from problems with her housing benefit payments and was then classed as ‘intentionally homeless’. She wants to be rehoused and also to change the system so nobody else faces this treatment in future.
Please sign and share the petition we have launched and come along to show your support at the council meeting.

If tenants get into rent arrears due to benefits being withheld:

1 – The council should not evict them.

2 – If they are evicted for these arrears by their landlord the council should not classify them as ‘intentionally homeless’.
